​For 8th Grade Band Students (Incoming Freshmen) coming into the VCHS Band Program-

VCHS Hornet Marching Band 2025 Summer Schedule:

• HS Colorguard Summer Rehearsal Dates: Begins week of June 9th.

  • Every Mon/Thurs 6:30-8:30pm with some off weeks. ​​​

• HS Drumline 90-Minute Sub-Sectionals & Full Ensemble: ​

  • Pit: Tues 10-11:30am (6/24 & 7/8)

  • Basses: Tues Noon-1:30pm (6/24 & 7/8)

  • Snares: Wed 8:30-10am (6/25 & 7/9)

  • Tenors: Wed 10-11:30am (6/25 & 7/9)

  • Full Ensemble: Wed 11:30am-1pm (6/25 & 7/9)​

• HS Colorguard Flag Camp: July 7th-11th 8am-Noon 

• HS Wind/Brass Sectionals: June 26th, July 10th, July 17th 7-8pm in HS Band Room.

VCHS Marching Band Pre-Season: 

• HS Band Leadership (Drum Majors/Section Leaders) will have their camp sessions Monday, July 21st & Tuesday, July 22nd 9am-Noon @ VCMS

• HS Drumline will hold camp Monday, July 21st thru Friday, July 25th 1-4pm @ VCMS

• Woodwind Sectionals: Monday July 21st/Wednesday July 23rd/Friday July 25th 1-2pm @ VCMS

• Brass Sectionals: Tuesday July 22nd/Thursday July 24th/Friday July 25th 1-2pm @ VCMS

• Basics Camp Wednesday, July 23rd to Friday, July 25th from 9am-Noon @ VCMS

• Full Band Camp: Monday July 28th- Friday August 1st from 8am-4pm @ VCMS

• Evening Rehearsals will be the following Tuesday Aug. 5th & Thursday Aug. 7 th 6:30-8:30pm @ VCMS

These few days afford us an opportunity to accomplish what would take approximately twenty-two days, or over five weeks, on our regular rehearsal schedule. Therefore, it is imperative that no time be wasted and that students come to the camp prepared.  Attendance is mandatory. Grades will be given for Camp. The band camp dates we be discussed with the students during band classes.​​​​​​​​
